Geauga Family Farms CSA members:

begin the 20-week summer season the first full week of June.
For those picking up on Tuesdays, the first
pickup date will be June 4; for those picking
up on Thursdays, the first pickup date will
be June 6; for those whose pickup day is Saturdays, your first pickup date will be June 8.
If you are one

is one of the most important e-mails we send all season, so
please be sure to read it carefully and thoroughly, including
the pickup instructions at the bottom of this e-mail. It is a
good idea to save this e-mail to pass along to anyone who
might pick up for you during the length of the summer program.
It also has contact information that you may need during the
will be delivered to your pickup site at the same time each
week. Please pick up your produce within the designated pickup
time; your share will not be kept beyond that time. Our site
managers have generously offered space and are volunteering
their time to provide convenient spots to pick up your
produce. It is unfair to expect them to hold onto your food
for an extended length of time.
THIS SEASON: There is a new share size this year, a half
share, the smallest share size. Please be sure you know what
size you signed up and paid for and be sure you are taking the
correct size box. Please verify
the size share you signed up for, as well as your pickup site
and times, with the information in this
and Michelle Bandy-Zalatoris are our farm representatives and
they can assist you with any questions you may have during the
season. Their e-mail addresses, as well as a link to our Web
site, are at the bottom of this e-mail. You will receive a
weekly e-mail with recipes, farm updates and a weekly produce
list, as well as other important information.
As a member of
the GFF CSA, you will receive a wide range of fruits and
vegetables, some of them unusual or different from what you
might be used to. To help you identify these vegetables, it is
a good idea to join Facebook now if you aren't already on
Facebook, and to "Like" our page. You can find our page by
clicking on the "Find us on Facebook" tab in this e-mail. We
also have a veggie ID guide on our Web site that will help you
our Web site, www.geaugafamilyfarms.org, anytime for
up-to-the-moment updates and copies of our weekly newsletter,
as well as archives of past year's newsletters where you'll
find all kinds of recipes for the more unfamiliar
Only shares will have a label with the person's name. Please
do not take a share with someone else's name on it. The only nonorganic items that will appear in the shares
during the season are apples, blueberries and peaches.
Typically the shares are completely organic. Likewise,
if you have chosen to receive organic produce only, take only
the box with your name on it. Your name will be printed in
bold black letters on fluorescent sheets of paper on at least
two sides of the box.

start weekly extras the second week of the program; seasonal
extras will start deliveries on Week 1. Please make note of
the deadlines for ordering to be sure your extras are included
with the next week's share.
NEW THIS SEASON: Beef will be delivered on a monthly
basis rather than weekly (unless you have
chosen to have it delivered all at once). We are still
finalizing our monthly delivery dates for each site, and will
let you know once that information is available.
There will be
several opportunities to tour our farms and meet the families
who are growing your food throughout the season. Keep your eye
on the newsletter for more details soon.
If you are
looking for a way to be more involved with Geauga Family Farms
CSA, consider volunteering at one of our pickup sites. If you
are interested in volunteering, contact Laura or Michelle.
would like to request that you pick up your share the first
week closer to the end of your pickup time to allow us to work
out any delivery timing and last-minute kinks the first week. Please bear with us if there are minor mistakes or
issues in the first few weeks, and know that we will correct
